Lately I've had a full-blown love for dressing up graphic tees. I found this J'ADORE tee at Old Navy & had to have it-I love the structured black & white.

 

When it comes down to it, I will pick jeans over pretty much anything

(unless Lululemon Wunder Unders are one of my options.)

I took it upon myself to make the executive decision that Friday's are casual Friday's at work. No one approved this, but no one has told me not to either. HA!

 

Today's "Casual Friday" look includes my favorite pair of skinnies, a graphic tee, open half-blazer jacket, my favorite statement necklace and vampy red lipstick.

Fall Trends

Usually I don't love the transition from Summer to Fall because Utah's Falls just aren't long enough. Before I know it I'm outside shoveling snow off my car and if you know me at all you know how much I hate being cold so me and snow don't mix well.

If you read my post last week I'm having an even harder time with this Fall coming because I'm so not ready to go back to work, leaving Mackson without a mama all day.Thankfully, I do actually have something to look forward to with cooler weather just around the corner. Fall Fashions. Maybe this Fall is different because my summer clothes just don't fit the same right now post-baby. I'm ready for comfy sweaters and flannel button ups. 

A few things that have been on my WANT list lately:

-A deep V neck loose white tee
-Steve Madden Leopard slip on shoes
-Some great statement jewelry
-Bold black sunnies
-Floppy hats {not sure I'm brave enough to attempt wearing these yet}
-Black Flats- they go with Everything!
-Anything with leather or leather accents. This tee with leather sleeves is a must-have!

38 Weeks.

Today I am 38 weeks pregnant

and it's so hard to believe it's gone by this quickly. I feel like I should have a few more months left, not two weeks.

TWO WEEKS LEFT!

 

Yesterday morning I woke up with lots of pressure and weird cramping. Baby was moving like crazy and I was terrified I was about to go into labor. I sloooowly got out of bed to get a bottle of water and laid in bed for another hour until it stopped.

No labor, guys.. We're good! Spencer is in North Dakota for work until later this week too.. So I'm keeping my legs fingers crossed that little dude can be patient for a little while longer. He's soo low and I'm feeling quite a bit of pressure today..

 

I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon & it's been the same stuff over and over lately. "you're doing well" "no protein in your urine" "your belly is measuring right on"

I had my midwife check me at 36 weeks and I was dilated to almost a 2. I'm not going to have her check me again because I don't want to mess with anything, and I'd rather not know if I've dilated any more until Spencer is home. Out of sight out of mind, right?

Well, I guess it would be more like out of mind, out of mind in this case considering I can't see my own cervix. {Fortunately.}

 

Anyways, I figured I'd do my outfit post for today. I've really been wondering how many more days I'll get to dress this bump. I try not to think about it because I get so bummed out.. I've loved having this bump soo much and I really have enjoyed every second of being pregnant. I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that In two weeks (or less?) I'll be actually HOLDING the little dude!

 

One day I'm just Mikell & wife, and then... suddenly I'm mom too.

MOM. MOM. MOM!

I can't comprehend it.

 

 

 

 

Skirt: Agnes & Dora. I bought it one size up to fit the bump but I ended up not liking how long it was. Not quite maxi skirt and it felt really awkward so.. I just hiked it up over the bump today.

 

Shirt: Forever 21. It's normally long, but I tied it above the bump today.

 

Shoes: Dolce Vita. My fav.

Summer Stripes

I love patterns. I love mixing patterns. Polka dots, stripes, floral, you name it.

I found this striped top at Pea in the Pod last week on clearance and loved it! It's super lightweight and perfect for summer. I paired it with my white jeans from Gap & CND white Shellac to complete the look!

p.s. You know you're really pregnant when you don't want to wear normal flats anymore.
These white grandma tennis shoes are the bomb.

Happiness is Expensive

I found this shirt online almost 2 years ago and when it came I thought it was just a little bit too baggy on me. BUT, I hate hate hate sending things back in the mail. I'll just let them sit in my drawer forever. Now that it looks like I'm hiding a basketball in my shirt, I'm glad I kept the shirt- it fits perfectly now!

 

I paired it with my black liquid wax leggings and heels.

Super easy, and really comfortable!

Makeshift Dress

I absolutely HATE trying clothes on in the stores. Especially now that I've got a good size pregnant belly on me. Its exhausting and that thing really gets in the way. I bought a skirt last week at H&M that I fell in love with but when I got home I realized I couldn't get it up past my thighs. Awesome. So I went back and exchanged it for the next size up. Got home, tried it on, and it was WAAAY too long but I mean, this skirt has POCKETS! So I hung it up in my closet anyways..

 

I really wanted to wear it this week so.. I just pulled it up OVER my belly, tied a shirt I can no longer get over my belly, and made my own makeshift dress. Boom.

I may or may not have high-fived myself. Win.

 



Black, Black & Cobalt Blue

I've always loved pairing black with other colors because something about it screams "classic" I found these track pants on sale at the Nordstrom Rack (SCORE) and paired them with a black top, black flats & Cobalt Blue accessories- a necklace, and my favorite Michael Kors bag.

{Don't worry guys, I didn't count the awesome Unicorn Bandaid on my foot as a Cobalt Blue accessory. Maybe I should though..}

 

This is the perfect way to be comfortable, but not look like I'm walking around in grungy clothes.

Denim & Grey

This has been one of my favorite {& most comfortable} outfits so far. I'm all about comfy.

 

 I dressed up this chambray button up top with my 26 week baby bump, a knee-length grey maternity skirt, a jeweled necklace, and snake skin pointy flats! (BTW, Maternity skirts are the best because they typically have the fold-over band that you can wear afterwards just like every other maxi skirt..)

 

Hint: you may want to check out the maternity skirt section, even if you aren't pregnant!

Spring Fever!

Spring Fever by mikell-k featuring circle sunglasses

Does anyone else have Spring Fever like I do? 

I've found some wardrobe essentials for this Spring- including the cutest Dolce Vita cork flats with pink details, a cut off denim vest & a pink and white striped maxi skirt (I hear these will be essential for the preg belly this Summer) 

I fell in love with these nude circle sunglasses with cat eye frames which would go perfectly with any outfit. The mint green bracelet, colorful Sephora Baked Eyeshadow & pink MAC lipstick became the cherry on top.
