Eventful Weekend

This past weekend was one of the most eventful weekends we've had, next to getting married. Back in February we started looking at homes and found an awesome real estate agent that carefully listened to our concerns to find us exactly what we wanted. We looked at a handful of homes/townhouses/condos about once a week and liked most of them- they could all work, but we didn't LOVE them.

Then a little town home went on the market and we went to see it the very next day in March.
BOOM. WE LOVED IT.
This was one of those things where "when you know you know."
We walked in and it just felt like home.

We wanted it so bad and let our real estate agent do some research on what it was worth. We put an offer in the next morning- almost 24 thousand dollars above what it was listed at. The town home was a short-sale so they list them WAY BELOW market price or what the bank is willing to take for it in order to get lots of offers to choose from. The seller accepted our offer 3 days later and it went from there to the bank.

The following months since we put an offer in back in March have been total hell. We've been back and forth and emotions have been completely up and down since our hearts were so set on this home. We were qualified, then we weren't, then we were, then we weren't.. things were absolutely crazy and I can't even begin to explain to you the hoops we've jumped through hoping to make this happen.

This past week Spencer was in Canada for work again and his flight was supposed to be in at 4:00pm. I got a call at 3:45 saying everything was approved, and we could sign! The title company wanted to sign at 4:30. Spencer's plane hadn't landed yet and I wanted him there. We ended up having to take him off the loan because he got a new internship for the Summer and we no longer qualified with him on there. Which is so stupid, and another hoop we jumped through.

I was frantically calling him and leaving messages for him to *safely* Speed home from the airport. We sat at the signing table- me, our Real estate agent, our Loan officer & a notary from the Title company. Still no Spencer. I asked if we could wait a few more minutes and Spencer came BURSTING through the door I was soo relieved!

I signed paper after paper after paper as they were explaining everything to us. I was so glad Spencer was there because I can't remember a word anyone said, honestly.

Saturday we spent the day looking at paint swatches, checking out refrigerators and looking at a million different options for washer/dryers. Dreamy! You know you're getting older when you're genuinely excited about washer/dryers!

Monday we got our keys & we are OFFICIALLY homeowners!

We are so so excited and already started on our many projects!

We also found out the lease in our apartment isn't up until July 21st- the same week as Baby Mack's Due Date.. haha JOY! I'm hoping this little guy decides to stay in there as long as he's supposed to so he doesn't come in the middle of a move with all of our stuff in boxes.

XOXO
