Transformation Tuesday

#TRANSFORMATIONTUESDAY

One of my favorite past times is looking through old photos. Call me old school, but pictures on my iphone just aren't the same. I'm so happy I grew up spending most of my money on disposable cameras.. I love having those prints. {The good, the bad, and the ugly.}

I found this gem at my mom's house a few months ago, and I laughed out loud at how we're clinging to each other, only because we do the same exact thing now.

Trust me, there's more where this came from.

I think we turned out alright.. and I'm so thankful to have this ginger as my sister best friend forever! Isn't she a beaut?! There's nothing better than having a sister.

XOXO

Weekend Shenanigans

It's been a while since I've done the Weekend Shenanigans with Sami's Shenanigans blog & since this was a big one, I figured I'd do the link up today!

Sami's Shenanigans

FRIDAY
I went on a field trip with my school to The Young Living Farm in Mona, Utah.
I had never even heard of Mona until this field trip.
The Young Living Farm is a GIANT distillery for essential oils. It was so awesome to see the distillery process and get to test them out, and obviously buy some as well.
bomb.com
(that's lavender ice cream.. SO GOOD!) and obviously a lovely view from Mona!

We also went on a double date night to Cheesecake Factory which is ALWAYS the best choice. I also bought the most glorious foundation I've ever tried at Sephora. That's a whole separate blog post though.

Then I spent the rest of the night making Happy Birthday posters for my seester.

SATURDAY
This happens to be my personal favorite day of the weekend. I didn't have school (praise) and I woke up early to drive to the airport with my mama to pick up my favorite little freckle faced petunia bum. She has been at BYU Hawaii and is coming home for school!

I was SO happy and relieved to see her running down the stairs at the airport.
AND on her BIRTHDAY! My baby sister is 20 years old!
We opened presents, went to breakfast, went to Target & the mall, got giant snow cones, dyed her eyebrows & got them waxed.. she was all sorts of pampered!

We also went to dinner  at Rio Grande for Nat's birthday!

SUNDAY
I started my first week in Primary. I wanted to cry.
We went to mom's for Sunday dinner & made homemade ice cream for Nat's Birthday cake! We watched Insidious (meh..) and stayed up LATE together!
Sunday I celebrated having Winston for 1 year!
My favorite little fuzzy guy in the whole world. So glad he's my fur baby!

MONDAY
We woke up early late and went to breakfast at The Park Cafe across from Liberty Park. SO GOOD! It's tiny in there and it was so loud and packed and served the best food.. I loved it. Jeff wanted to go to Tracy Aviary after so we did which ended up being really cool.
The pink flamingos were sweet & I spent all my quarters on duck food.

We spent the rest of the afternoon running errands and looking around in the Halloween Store! (Can I get a hallelujah for the Halloween Store?!)
We had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings which is ALWAYS a good idea.

This weekend went by WAAAY too fast. But I have lots to look forward to the next few weekends!
AND I'm clearly really excited to have my sister home!! FOR GOOD this time!

Bye Bye Sissy

I've known today was coming for a long time.
..But it seriously snuck up on me..
Today is the day my sister moves to Hawaii.
I'm SO BUMMED for me and SO EXCITED for her.

Last night we went to dinner as a family for our last night with Fatalie.
After dinner she came inside to say goodbye to Winston, sat down, smiled at me & started bawling. This was the first time I had seen Nat actually cry about leaving.

My mom has had the hardest time sending her away for school.
It would be different if it was inland, but it's somewhere we've never traveled to nor can we afford to visit often. Natalie has always been the glue for our family.. And she's done an awesome job at making us all laugh and get along.
Fats told us she'll see us next Christmas. A year from now.
............
When I think back on how much has happened in the last year, it's sad to think this year may be just as eventful.. but without my sissy by my side.

I'm sure to many of you this seems completely insignificant.
Which is just fine..
But my best friend no longer being a few streets away is something I've never experienced.
Today I'm thankful for iphones, facebook, blogs, emails and texts.
At least I know we're only a phone call away!

This little Ginger is all grown up. Fats was born a little fishy and will be right at home running around on the beach.

Fats, I'm SO absolutely proud of you.
I'm so happy & excited for you.
You will meet some awesome friends & have some amazing experiences.
I can't wait to hear all about it!

I LUHH YOUU!!

A Ginger-rific Birthday!

Today is my 100th blog post!!
Which is a celebration alone!
Happy my 100th blog post is about Fatalie!

I'm pretty sure everyone probably knows Natalie by know.
[AKA: Fatalie]
You can find my blog post on Fatalie HERE

Today is this little Ginger's 19th Birthday!!!!
19 years ago this flaming red head came out of the womb looking like a smurf child.. All blue and baby ugly with a red hair. Demon child? Probably
My mom tried to convince herself she birthed an Angel and dressed Fatalie up in an angel costume for baby pictures. Unfortunately for ya'll I couldn't find a picture.

ANYWAYS,
To honor ginger-face, I thought I'd post some pictures she doesn't know I have.

For those of you who grew up in the 90's know the TV show that was on after school.. ZOOM.
This was a recipe she followed from ZOOM one day. I'm not sure, but I THINK they're cookies..

Here she is with prune fingers looking all innocent..
You should have seen her little ginger fro when her hair was that short and dry!
She was a total water weenie growing up! IF she wasn't in the pool, she was laying naked in the bathtub with her underwear pulled up around her chest and my dads big tee shirt wrapped around her legs pretending to be a mermaid.
Good times I tell ya..

This picture is PROBABLY one of my favorites. When Fatalie was little she would wish for more freckles so they would all blend together and she would just look tan. Like one giant walking freckle. You can see on her cheeks she was doing a good job..

Now this next picture is for those with children who are a little on the crazy side. If this doesn't give you hope, I don't know what will....

See.. Even if your child decides it's really funny to take the curly red hairs out of her hair brush to make it look like chest hair... There's still potential she MIGHT grow up normal.
In this case, I think We lucked out with Fatalie..

Natalie is someone who I KNOW I will have a good time with.
Guaranteed.
[see below]

SURPRISINGLY, not EVERY picture I have of Fatalie is ugly..

AND, on occasion we like to be normal together.
[rarely..]

We will always share a love for using strange voices for each other, name calling (to one another, gory zombie movies & looking at awkward family photos. [Of other people.]
We will never get sick of laughing about the time we went to family dinner at Robintino's when dad was REALLY moody, and I shot a spit wad right at his forehead.
Sometimes you just need a good ice-breaker!

This little ginger is growing right up- 19 years old today.
BUT no matter how old we both get, she'll always be my best friend.
Some of my favorite times have been with Fatalie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATALIE!!!
I LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!

-your (little) big sister!
