Merry Christmas!

We've sent out christmas cards every year. Last year Winston was in the snow and he hated it! I totally meant to grab him as we were running out the door so he could be in the pictures but he was so happy laying in his favorite spot, I let him rest.
Anyways, Here are some pictures from our Christmas cards this year.

Merry Christmas to you and your family from The Gordons!
(& Bunny Winston!)

Sick Bunny-kins

I've gotta say I was feeling a little down and out last week so you guys didn't hear from me much! Winston stopped eating and I got super worried. I took him to the vet and they think he had a blockage in his tum. I had to force feed him medications & baby foods with a hospital syringe morning & night which he hated, as did I.

Bunnies get really sick easily and tend to "give up" if they feel sick enough. With Winston not pooping or eating, the Vet told me if he didn't eat or pass a poopy in a few days he could die. So.. I was pretty sick to my stomach about it. The Vet also told me to make sure he isn't lethargic, to get him out and play as much as possible. To make sure he's eating/drinking, getting his meds twice a day, getting nutrients, not grooming, getting electrolytes & taking mineral oil. Talk about a full time job!

He wasn't drinking which made him super dehydrated so I had to take him to the Vet AGAIN for liquids. The Vet said he wanted to keep him there for the afternoon & I thought I was going to die.  Bunnies also have heart attacks really easily so I thought FOR SURE he'd have a heart attack being in a strange place with other animals. Winston just CLUNG to me. The vet said he had never seen an animal so bonded to his mama. (awee..)

Anyways, about a week and a half later after I felt like I had literally done everything I could, Winston started feeling better. I couldn't find him one morning and he had snuck in the kitchen to eat the hay that I had taken away from him earlier that week. Little stink! I was so happy he was hungry and eating! He also started to play more and would run all over the apartment fast as lightning, come running around a corner and would kick his legs and flip around. Doing bunny binkys are his favorite.
(If you don't know what Bunny Binks are.. Youtube "Bunny Binky" it's adorable.)

Needless to say I feel like my life is a little bit more put together now that I'm not constantly worrying about Winnie! I was so worried about him and I can't imagine what it's like to have a sick child.. at least kids can tell you what's wrong!

So happy my favorite little ball of fluff is feeling better!
(I knew he was feeling better when he started acting like a puppy again by jumping on the couch..)

Also.. On that happy note, how about my new blog design!?
 I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
A special thanks to Jess over at NC Grown! Jess was my first blogger friend if continues to be one of my favorites. If you don't follow her blog you should! She's a total sweetheart. You can check out her blog design page HERE!

Change is good, right? In this case change is good + extremely lovely.
Thank you Jess!!

Shenanigans

I'm happy to say my first week of school is over! I'm loving it so much though that getting home at 11:00 pm after working a full day AND going to school doesn't seem to faze me as much as I thought it would. I'm soaking up learning & spending time with new friends. I've also learned that not having any school/homework the last 6 years has certainly effected my study habits (or the lack thereof..) Getting into the swing of studying and having homework will be an adjustment!

I spent Friday afternoon with my pink gma and papa which is always an interesting time. We ate Frosty's together and Grandpa was really enjoyable, which actually doesn't happen very often. He's even smiling in this picture..??!

Grandma and Fatalie, my sister, write each other once a week. Natalie told my gma that I sent her gma's "dino video" & I got scolded from Gma for that.
***a post with the details on this to come..***

Friday night we went to see the movie Oblivion with Jeff.
Not my favorite, but I also have a really hard time sitting still very long. Especially when I'm super tired.. All I could think about is how the stranger next to me was breathing heavily and how I just wanted to be at home. Preferably in sweat pants.

I had school all day Saturday & received my first tip! Woot woot!
After school Spencer and I had date night eating take out food at the park & then shopping for school supplies. Romantic, right? It was good to spend some time with him, I feel like I haven't seen much of him this week.

Yesterday we went to our friend's baby blessing. Babies make me happy & they smell good.
After the blessing we both had so much homework and studying to do we spent all night with our noses in our school books. Had a quick dinner at mom's house & came home to do more homework.

This weekend I felt extra love for the fuzzy animals in my life. Sometimes I think I like them more than most human beings on this earth.
I had a slight obsession with Winston's tiny mouth this weekend. He chews with his mouth open and it's so tiny and pink it's hard to not love it.
When I was at my parent's house I noticed my puppy Jax needed to have his eyes cleaned. I went to get a warm washcloth and came back to find him like this....
Sorry Jax, but I can still see your big ears!

The weekend ended on a high note when I got in bed & was still so happy that I looked done up. Every time I get my eyelashes done I wonder how I ever lived without them.
Seriously.

 XOXO

Easter Sunday

Honestly this weekend was SUCH a good time!!
I loved Easter & I am in shock that it's already APRIL!
I don't know about your family, but mine rocks.

Here's a small look into our Easter Sunday!
(Duh, Winston got his own Easter treats!)

Sunday Brunch with the family...

Colored Easter Eggs...

I think I'll send these in to Awkward Family Photos.
SO. AWESOME.

I'm so happy the weather turned out to be so beautiful for Easter! Winston loved running around in the yard & it was fun to spend some time with the REAL Easter Bunny!!

I'm also so thankful for all that my Savior did for me.
He has made so many wonderful things possible for myself & my family. His love truly is infinite.. & I'm forever grateful for that..

I hope everyone had an AWESOME Easter!!
XOXO

The Need to Nurture

THE NEED TO NURTURE...
I'm talkin' the need to feed when hungry, calm when crying, comfort when sad...
And no, I'm not talking about husbands...

Aren't we all born with SOME SORT of need to nurture? Don't we all have SOME motherly attributes?
[No mother, I'm not pregnant..]

This, ladies and gentlemen is why I wanted a bunny. I can feed him, love on him, give him treats, play with him.. & yet I still don't have to change diapers, listen to him whine & I can lock him in a cage when I want to leave.
Which apparently is socially unacceptable to do with children.. ??

...................................................................................................
Any of my family members would tell you that if I laid out all of my Christmas presents and asked a complete stranger to guess what age group my gifts were for.. they would probably say a 5 year old. A few of my Christmas gifts this year consisted of a cupcake pillow, a photographer Barbie, pink gel pens & a toy bunny.

This isn't your typical stuffed toy bunny people, it makes real bunny noises and can hop in a full circle. I brought it home with shiny new batteries & had no idea what was about to happen...

Winston absolutely fell in love!
He takes care of it, guards it when I walk by & I've caught Winston grooming the toy's ears multiple times.
It's ADORABLE.

My own little fuzzy baby stepped it up to make sure this toy was taken care of
HAHA

I guess I'm not the only one with the need to nurture!

Family Pictures

This year I decided I wanted to do Christmas Cards for our FIRST year of being married, especially since we now have a baby, err.. bunny.

We just drove up to my mom's house and had Fatalie take some quick pictures for us.
They turned out super cute & I fell in love with Winston Spencer all over again.
Since our Christmas cards have been sent out, I can actually post these now.
I had to post this one because Winston's huge foot is seriously out of control. HAHA
This is right before I put Winston in the snow and he tried to escape..
It was all fun and games until I put Winston in the snow. He did NOT like that. Notice how it looks like he doesn't have any ears. He tucked them back to keep them warm.

So excited that the two feet of snow in these pictures is completely melted.
It's December 13th and NO snow- I only wore a light jacket into work this morning.
BONUS!

P.S. DON'T FORGET TO ENTER YESTERDAY'S GIVEAWAY!!

Priorities

This morning I had my priorities straight when I decided to sleep after my alarm went off.
Two extra minutes turned into 30 resulting in me already running late.
I flipped the bathroom light on and realized I still needed to straighten my mangled mess I could hardly call hair. Another 20 minutes gone.
I put on minimal make up, quickly got dressed, kissed Spencer good bye & grabbed my purse to leave.

This is when the real problem starts..

I'm standing at the front door and Winston Bunny sees me. He quickly hops up to his cage door and puts his dirty little feet up, like "MOM LET ME OUT!"
Of COURSE I can't leave without lovin on that little guy. I opened his cage and gave him a few love pets. He's slowly inching forward to put his nose out of the cage door- obviously wanting to get out and hop around.
I FEEL SO BAD leaving such a cute thing in a cage all day.
I heard Spencer getting up so I let him out of his cage to hop around.
Spencer pointed out I was now REALLY late for work.
But.......
Spencer literally helped me to the door and shut it behind me. haha
HOW on earth can you leave something as cute as this behind?!
Winston has a hiding spot between the two couches where he loves to hang out.
He likes to sit with me as I flip through pages of my magazines
He likes to give kisses..
And I discovered he likes Keva Juice..
Winston likes us being on the floor with him..
This is when Winston is the most active. He will RUN around his cage, run around the couches, sprint down the hall and then KICK his feet and flip around. He'll jump straight up in the air and flip all over.. SO cute..

Winston is litter box trained, so when we are home he can hop around and be out of his cage- just like a little puppy! He has a few toys he likes- a pine cone and a little wooden carrot he likes to chew on. I cut up a towel to have in his cage so it was soft for his feet, and he LOVES the little towel scraps. He cuddles with them, chews on them, and will make them wrinkled and then smooth them out again. He's darling.

Last week Winston was CONSTANTLY licking me. I started to get worried thinking he had a vitamin deficiency or wasn't getting nutrients in his food.
When I googled why he was doing this, I was so happy.
The first page said "CONGRATULATIONS- you have a happy healthy bunny who has formed a bond with who he views as his mum!"
Turns out Winston just loves me.

He was totally worth being late to work today..
Winston, you were the best $25.00 purchase I've ever made..

Deal or No Deal?

Lately,
if you asked my husband he would tell you I've been a total annoyance about having babies. Not that I want a baby RIGHT NOW, but I've certainly wanted to talk about it.
[I think more just to be annoying..]

Lets backtrack now...
Since about June I've been BEGGING Spencer to get me a bunny.
Apparently I just feel the need to take care of something living and cute.
My tomato plant just isn't cutting it, because it's not real cute.

June passed, NO bunny. July came around and it was PERFECT- I'll ask for a bunny for my birthday! I even made a board on pinterest called "Bring me bunnies" thinking Spencer might check my pinetrest account for gift ideas.
He did check it, but somehow missed the bunny memo.

A few days before my Birthday Spencer made it VERY CLEAR I was NOT getting a bunny. And if my parents got me one, we would be taking it back. Rude.
[But hey, maybe if I didn't get a bunny I could have that baby..?]

I kind of let go of the bunny thing, and really focused on the babies. Then my friend Kelli had her baby as you read in a few blog posts ago. This is when I realized Spencer knows NOTHING about pregnancy or having babies. SHOCKING.
I guess it makes sense, but really though. Bless his heart.

I helped him a few days ago with homework and asked what I got in return. His response, "Anything you want." BAD IDEA for him, GREAT idea for me!
 A BUNNY!
He agreed. I'm sure he's totally pulling my leg. He HAS TO BE! What an awful joke.
"I'll get you a bunny if you agree to wait a year before we have kids"
WHAT A DEAL!
"I'll have to sleep on it"

I thought about all of the pros/cons of this deal, and the pros outweighed the cons by far! We've only been married 5 months. Can I wait to have kids? Absolutely. Do I think waiting is a good idea? Absolutely.
[especially after discovering Spencer is clueless]

DEAL!

Meet Winston
The newest addition to the Gordon Family!

This little guy is TOTALLY awesome. We brought him home last night from the nicest breeder. He's a purebred Lionhead bunny- all white with blue eyes!
He looks huge from all of his fluff, but he's SO TINY!
His fluffiness is so adorable I can't even stand it.
This Video is exactly how I feel.
[if you haven't seen Despicable Me you are MISSING OUT!]

I'm working on Potty training Winston right now, and so far he has free range to the house and goes in his cage at night. No accidents yet!
Last night when we brought him home he slowly hopped around and sniffed everything. Today when I let him out he ran around and jumped and hopped! SO CUTE.
He learned how to jump in and out of his cage- which results in this mess.. until we can figure out a better set up.
He's SO fluffy that his bedding just sticks to him. He had the messiest little face this morning! He's cuddly, cute
AND Spencer totally loves him!

How could you NOT with a face like this??

Love you lots already Winston!
